What inspired you to take this course and career path?
I come with over a decade experience in PR, Communications and Social Media back in India. However, since the industry is dynamic and needs skilled professionals who are relevant to the present scheme of things, I decided to upskill and move up the career progression, and this course helps me to hone my skills.
Why did you decide to become a Student Rep?
I’ve always been a people’s person and love interacting. Being a Student Rep gives that perfect platform to know people, interact with them and contribute to the betterment of others.
What changes do you hope to achieve as a Rep this semester?
My goal is to ensure that each student who steps in Unitec feels warm and welcoming. I believe that “A satisfied student will bring 1000 more” and this way Unitec will be the Institution of choice in Auckland.
If you have to bake or cook for others, what is your ‘signature dish?’
Pasta & Spicy Chicken curry.
Where is your hometown and what is the best thing about it?
I hail from Hyderabad, which is the southern part of India. The best part of being a Hyderabadi is the love for food. Also, families are close knit in our culture.
If you could travel anywhere, where would it be?
Istanbul, Turkey. Just for the sake of “FOOD”!
What is the book or movie that has influenced you the most and why?
The only book that has been able to influence my life has been “The Bible”.
What was your first job (or if you haven’t had a job, your first big responsibility)?
My first job was at a music school back in India. I was hired as their Public Relations officer. It was an exciting time since it gave me an insight into the world of Media.
Where do you see yourself in five years’ time?
On the way to owning the Biggest PR & Marketing Company in New Zealand
